“NCCAA’s strongest characteristic is its devotion to the community and we have created our first advisory council so that we can better tailor our service to North Carolina communities,” said NCCAA Executive Director, Sharon C. Goodson, “We have invited successful community members with diverse backgrounds to help NCCAA explore new solutions to break the cycle of poverty.”

The North Carolina Community Action Association (NCCAA) is the statewide association of North Carolina's 34 Community Action Agencies. Its members offer a number of services aimed at eliminating poverty in North Carolina including self-sufficiency, Head Start, weatherization and job training programs. Community Action Agencies are the only nonprofits mandated by federal legislation to serve the poor and disadvantaged.
