A Word from the Director
This year has not only been a celebratory, but also one that molds the future of our organization as we look forward to another great 125 years of growth, change and prosperity!
This year we celebrated our 50th Annual Home & Product Show, which was another major success, and is a staple for our organization.
We saw a tremendous increase of attendance, vibrance, and engagement at all our networking events, primarily our monthly networking lunches, and business after hours.
Our 49th Annual Golf Tournament saw a slight dip in participation mainly because of timing against other tournaments but should still be deemed a success as our sponsorships were up!
Our Lobsterfest Summer Picnic… What can I say about this even and the transformation it has seen over the past couple of years?! When I started with our organization, we struggled to get 50 attendees, and last year and this year we had over 110 & 115 respectively! This event speaks to the new excitement that our group has taken on and the overall optimism for the future!
This year our Quality of Life Expo was moved from Asnuntuck to the Enfield Square mall. We saw a great level of participation and excitement from 40 vendors looking to get their respective messages out to our community! Our planning committee has also taken some great ideas for expanding the event in the future.
This year we received a great deal of coverage, with featured articles in the Journal Inquirer, our 125th Insert with the Journal Inquirer, and front-page feature in The Enfield Press, North Central News, and Business West Magazine. In addition to all of this we now have our very own promotional video/commercial which is currently featured on our website and will be on all electronic platforms in the next few weeks.
Finally, in addition to several fantastic grand openings throughout the course of the year, we were able to open our brand-new office location at the Enfield Square! I cannot thank the Fairfield Inn & Suites formerly the Holiday Inn enough for the support system they were to our organization and even me personally over the course of the past few years! When I was hired prior to Karen coming on board then made me feel welcome, treated me like one of their own while I was learning the ropes. Embarking on the next chapter we are excited to have the retail style office space in an extremely accessible location to further the benefits of our members and the community residents.
Thank you all to our incredible members, committee members, volunteers and most importantly our Board of Directors. Without all their leadership the strides we have made over the years would not have been possible. We look forward to a fantastic and prosperous 2020 for our members, our community, and our organization!
Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Mike Vezzola
