Faith & Politics Resources
What is Christ’s call to us in this season in the life of our country? Churches in our presbytery are approaching this question in a variety of ways. Faith Presbyterian Church in Sacramento has formed a Missional Community on Faith and Politics. As a diverse group of people who seek the mind of Christ and to be agents of peace and reconciliation, they practice civil discourse and offer resources and events for the people of their church and community. One of those offerings is a newsletter with resources that they hope will:

  • serve as an encouragement to build our skills as listeners and critical thinkers
  • engage readers more fruitfully and graciously in civil discourse
  • provide ways to better use our voices and express our convictions.

A Note From: Nancy Clegg
I am so very grateful for all the kind words of appreciation of my ministry and service with both Sacramento and Stockton Presbyteries for forty years! Already, one thing I have learned about retirement, is the opportunity to remember and give thanks to all those who were a part of my life in ministry.

I served with nine different pastor colleagues in church ministry, and in my position as Stated Clerk with both presbyteries, I served with six presbytery executives and wonderful staff; most recently, Mary Westfall, Shelley Mitchell and Claire Pisor. Shelley and Claire deserve my thanks and recognition for most of my years as Clerk, without whom I couldn't have done my job alone. There were eighteen presbytery moderators, and devoted Session clerks I got to know, and many dedicated pastor colleagues, church and presbytery leaders and committee members. I have been blessed to share in ministry with so many special people! And I thank God for every one!

Thank you for all the kind messages and cards, and for the incredible gift of Blue Apron "home cooking" to make my new chapter of life both easier and more enjoyable. May we continue to be grateful for everyone's contributions to the work and service God calls us to within our presbytery!

With love and gratitude,
Rev. Nancy Clegg, HR
