We are excited to present our latest communication vehicle,
NCCRS News. The launch of this new quarterly newsletter coincides with a rebranding of our organization which includes a crisp new logo and revamped social media sites, including a brand new Facebook page we encourage you to follow.
Each issue of the newsletter will contain NCCRS news updates, member organization and student success stories, cooperating college and university news, evaluator accomplishments, and the latest industry news and trends. We encourage you to submit newsworthy items to us for consideration of inclusion in future editions via email at [email protected]. If a colleague is interested in being added to our mailing list, they can do so by sending a request to the same address.

NCCRS extends a big thank you and warm wishes to our evaluation associate, Carol Creevy, upon her January 2022 retirement. A true professional, Carol was an integral part of the NCCRS team for 17 years, serving as the face of the organization and expertly handling a wide array of duties over the years. | |
NCCRS welcomed a new assistant director, Phil Kahn, in June 2021. Phil, who succeeds the retired Nancy Szakats, brings more than 20 years of higher education, workforce development, and marketing experience to the role. Among other duties, Phil will coordinate and supervise site visits and virtual academic evaluations. | | |
WECA Receives College Credit Recommendation for
Low Voltage Electrical Apprenticeship Program

Congratulations to our colleagues at Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA) for receiving an NCCRS college credit recommendation for their Low Voltage Electrical Apprenticeship program. The three-year program joins WECA’s Commercial Electrical and Residential Electrical Apprenticeship programs, which each received college credit recommendations from NCCRS in 2018.

New NCCRS Member Theoria Technical College Receives Credit Recommendations
Kudos to new NCCRS member organization, Theoria Technical College, for recently earning college credit recommendations for eight of their courses. Based in Carlsbad, California, the organization was founded to provide convenience, affordability, and flexibility for quality education to adult learners interested in pursuing a professional career in Early Childhood Education. Among the courses to receive credit recommendations are Child Growth and Development, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) for Preschool, and Early Childhood Education Administration and Management.

YFTI Team Training Program Revalidated
Congratulations to the Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) on the NCCRS revalidation of their Five Day High Fidelity Wraparound Team Training program. YFTI was formed in 2007 to assist Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Children’s Bureau in bringing High Fidelity Wraparound to the Commonwealth's 67 counties.

Launches Child Literacy App
Veteran NCCRS evaluator, Heather Kenny, PhD, and a colleague, have developed and launched a new smartphone application, Sounder & Friends™ The Game, that helps young children develop important literacy skills. Based on the popular animated series of the same name, the game invites beginning readers, ages 3-7, into a fun and enchanting world where sounds can be heard and seen. The app is free to download from Google Play and the Apple App Store.
