“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”
―  John Wesley
Congratulations! We survived Charge Conference!
And as you breathe a sigh of relief having fulfilled all of the administrative tasks required to complete the plethora of forms for Charge Conference, we invite you to take a moment to center yourself before Advent begins in a couple of weeks...

"Flee for a while from your tasks, hide yourself for a little space from the turmoil of your thoughts. Come, cast aside your burdensome cares, and put aside your laborious pursuits. For a little while give your time to God, and rest in him for a little while. Enter into the inner chamber of your mind, shut out all things save God and whatever may aid you in seeking God; and having barred the door of your chamber, seek him."
~ St. Anselm of Canterbury ( Source:  Anselm of Canterbury: The Major Works)

NEWS TO KNOW
Invitational Sermon Series for February 2019
for all North Coast District Churches
Just Mercy: Conversations to Spark a Redemptive Movement invites clergy and congregations to face the most pressing challenges in our communities, tell the truth about our fears and shortcomings, and take meaningful action together. Anchored in scripture and organized around principles outlined by author and teacher Bryan Stevenson, this 4-week series provides an opportunity for us to learn and grow together as a unified community of Christ-followers in the North Coast District.
Materials for each week (February 3, 10, 17, and 24) include exegesis of the lectionary texts, preaching ideas, music suggestions, graphics/projection templates, liturgy, prayers, ideas for children/families, recommendations for continuing the conversation in your congregation, and additional resources. You can sign up to receive resources digitally by contacting Joy Parker at [email protected] .

While we would love for every church to embrace this series in its entirety, we understand that some churches have planned their calendars well into 2019. We invite you to use as many or as few of the resources as you are able in your context. A weekly prayer, call to worship, or offertory focus would be welcome and encouraged.
