NORTH COAST DISTRICT NEWS

December 2, 2022

“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”
EAST OHIO CONFERENCE

Come Transform Lives with Us through

The United Methodist Church. #Be UMC.

Rev. Laura White shares why she is United Methodist:

“It’s in The United Methodist Church that I have found connection which has enabled me to continue to grow in my discipleship journey and it’s in The United Methodist Church where I know I get to participate in ministry around the globe. Even though I can’t be physically present, I know that I am there spiritually, emotionally, and through my tithes and my offerings,” said the superintendent of the Southern Hills District and the co-superintendent of the Ohio Valley District.

White is the first of many East Ohio Conference clergy and laity who will share how their lives continue to be transformed through The United Methodist Church. Their stories are part of the denomination-wide #BeUMC campaign that calls us to embrace our Wesleyan heritage and honors these core values that connect each of us in The United Methodist Church:

  • Disciple making
  • Belonging & inclusion
  • Influence, connection & impact
  • Experiencing God through The United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Church is founded on a Wesleyan theology of grace, anchored in Scripture, and based in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the continuing movement of the Holy Spirit. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Every day offers a chance to live into this mission and to strive to #BeUMC — to be the church our communities so desperately need.

FROM THE NEHEMIAH MISSION (click on each page to read):

Greetings North Coast District!

Flat Rock Homes is very busy collecting Christmas gifts from those churches who have adopted a home. The residents and Flat Rock staff are busy decorating their homes and purchasing gifts for their special friends and family. Yesterday we enjoyed visiting with Santa via Zoom. It is the season of celebrating the birth of Jesus and that isn’t lost in the midst of all the excitement at Flat Rock Homes. The Christmas story was read and Christmas Carols sung during our Zoom celebration. Please click on the image of our newsletter to open up the full document and read more specifics about all of the wonderful things happening at Flat Rock especially during the Christmas season!

In regard to Church & Community Engagement, December will be a time of reflection on what worked and what didn’t while Pastors are in their pulpits during Advent. Rose and I were blessed to be invited to share Flat Rock Homes with a cumulative total of 73 churches in 2022. We are now ready and willing to fill our 2023 calendars. We ask that pastors please contact us if you need pulpit supply as you plan for vacations, continuing education, or mission Sunday. It would be our honor to share Flat Rock Homes and have the opportunity to meet more of our East Ohio Conference church families. You will find our contact information in the attached Faith Connections Newsletter.

God bless your Christmas and Happy New Year to All!

Gratefully,

Sherri
