All in God’s Image:
A Celebration of Black History Curriculum

Multicultural Vitality is excited to announce that our recent curriculum for Sunday school students, All in God’s Image: A Celebration of Black History, is available to EOC churches at no cost. This four-week unit, designed developmentally for grades K-6, includes suggested children’s book titles, activities, Bible verses, historical information, songs, and more. It is also a perfect resource for church school staff who would like to highlight a Juneteenth celebration this summer, use it for VBS, or for summer Sunday school lessons.

The curriculum, created by local diversity learning consultant/trainer Corinne Dunn, received great reviews from EOC church leaders who participated in a training event ahead of Black History Month.

“The program has so much space for an instructor to present the information and make it special,” said Sharon Sudberry of Church of the Saviour UMC. “We plan to build [a] spotlight on one of the key leaders discussed in the All in God’s Image curriculum each night of VBS during the Bible story rotation as they relate to one of the VBS themes of truth, justice, peace, faith, and salvation,” shared Linda Morrow, certified lay minister at New Concord UMC.

If you have questions about the curriculum, please e-mail Will Fenton-Jones, director of Multicultural Vitality, or call him at (330) 499-3972 ext. 117.

FLAT ROCK HOMES
Newsletter and Adopt a Home Program
The May edition of the Faith Connections newsletter can be found HERE and the flyer for our new mission opportunity, Adopt a Home, can be found HERE. You’ll notice in this month’s edition there are a number of new opportunities for churches, corporations, and civic organizations to partner with us in ministry. We pray that you’ll take time to read and notice the many ways in which churches may partnering with us. The opportunities include a range in time or financial commitment along with what type of things a church may enjoy or what’s important to them.

Flat Rock Homes is all about partnering with churches, both United Methodist and Non UM churches. I would be happy to share at any group level about Flat Rock Homes. My colleague, Rose Darling and I have a number of pastors contacting us monthly after receiving Faith Connections. It’s a blessing to work with them in choosing a mission project and/or be invited to speak during worship or other gatherings.
