Greetings North Coast District,

I pray you are enjoying this beautiful summer weather and taking time for yourself and your family. Our Flat Rock Family is doing very well. They of course are enjoying on site outdoor activities including their participation in Race at the Rock. We’ve been told by direct care staff that there’s a new love for golf carts amongst our residents. Staff are very interested in finding a golf cart that could be permanent at Flat Rock for “joy rides”. Just something fun to do on site that’s different and a huge treat. Please let us know if you know of anyone who would like to donate a used or new golf cart that is good condition . We would greatly appreciate it.

We are registered for the Lakeside and Marblehead Light House Craft Show at Lakeside October 8th at 9am. This is a new event for us. All items sold must be hand crafted and we have many wonderful, talented artists. We are hoping that we can have a few of our individuals join us at Lakeside during this event to help with selling the items and meet those who attend. Something new and exciting, so please prayer with us that it’s a huge success and that all areas of Flat Rock will have plenty of crafted items for us to sell. We would love to see you there!

On the Church & Community Engagement side, Rose and I are quite busy. Rose is booked on Sundays through the end of the year. I have October through December available if you’re in need of pulpit supply or for a mission Sunday. I’m praying for a full slate of churches hearing about the ministry and mission of Flat Rock. A few new things for me this year included an invitation to East Ohio Conference Mission U which is the United Women in Faith. As a Deaconess they invited me to speak about Flat Rock during their 1 ½ day event. I’ve registered to attend the entire event. Also, I will be facilitating a one day Fall Women’s Retreat in West Ohio coming up soon. I’m excited that I will be speaking at three Southern Hills Churches in September, for one it will be their United Women in Faith Sunday. As a Deaconess I am ready and willing to speak at United Women in Faith meetings or Sunday services. Also, I’m available to pastors for pulpit supply. I speak at churches of any size with 6 attendees or hundreds of attendees. I love them all and I’m comfortable sharing just the message or leading the entire service. Please contact me if I can be of assistance.

I hope you enjoy the newsletters and that you know how much you are appreciated by everyone at Flat Rock Homes. God bless you! To read our newsletter for July, please click HERE. To read the newest update on the Ohio Disability & Ministries Collaborative Newsletter, click HERE.

Declutter Your Mind and Space
Debbie Bryant, wife of retired pastor Rev. It is “Declutter your Mind and Space.” “When we free ourselves of stuff, we are free to move on and truly enjoying living,” says Chris Lotenero, one of the presenters. Debbie adds that it gives us more time to spend with God, serving him and spending more time in prayer!
