Join the North Carolina Oral Health Collaborative (NCOHC) and NCDHA for Oral Health Day 2020 on June 3, 2020 in Raleigh, NC! We will work together to educate our legislators about the importance of oral health care while advocating for increasing avenues to help improve access to oral health care for ALL North Carolinian’s! We will also discuss the utilization of teledentistry, which is the use of electronic information and communication technology to provide support of efficient and quality patient care. All dental professionals are encouraged to attend as well as dental hygiene students! We are the voice for ALL North Carolinian’s! Public Health Dental Hygienist - Training Course Update

The Public Health Dental Hygienist training course for those wishing to work under the newly revised rule, addressing access to care, is in the development stages by the North Carolina Oral Health Section. Once finalized, dental hygienists will be able to receive the required training via online and in person. Mark Your Calendar - April is Oral Cancer Month!

Approximately 53,500 people will be newly diagnosed with oral cancer in 2020. That’s 145 people diagnosed EVERY DAY! One person every hour will unfortunately die from oral cancer. We are “part of the change” to improve early discovery of suspicious lesions to help end oral cancer. If found early, people have about a 80-90% survival rate. Be Part Of the Change and Check Your Mouth are active campaigns from the Oral Cancer Foundation to bring awareness and encourage more RDH’s to be involved in early detection... because YOU are on the front lines!
