From the Desk of the
NCDP Congressional 7th District Chairperson
"Planning for 2024 Starts Today,
Advocate for Medicaid Expansion"
Dear Blue-Blooded Democrats:

Thank you for your contributions to the Congressional 7th District. The Democrats are wealthy in democracy, and we will stand up and protect the principles on which this country was built.

On February 1, 2020, I was elected as the first African American Chair of the 7th District. I will seek re-election on May 20 and hope to earn your support.

Next week, I will go to Raleigh, NC, to the NC General Assembly to visit legislation to advocate for Medicaid Expansion. Affordable Health is a human issue. HB76 will offer healthcare to close to 500,000 citizens in NC. Join our plan of action and contact your NC Senator. and demand Medicaid Expansion. The GOP has held it up too long. Write letters to your editor and post them on social media.

Planning for 2024 starts with precinct organizing, which is the beginning of forming a solid structure for the party.

Next week I will also meet with the DNC to advocate for the NCDP 7th District. Planning for 2024 starts today. The rural counties are the core of the NCDP. If the core is weak, so is the NCDP. We have to start with the grassroots. My year-round strategic plan was effective in 2016, 2018, and 2020. in 2022 although we fell short of the statewide election, we had victories throughout the District and one historic win in Columbus County under the leadership of Thurman Franklin. We must build coalitions with unaffiliated voters by addressing the concerns of our voters. Join us on March 4 at 2 pm at UNCW Housing Public Coilation addressing the crisis in the District. This event is open to the public regardless of party affiliation.

We will focus on what unites us rather than what divides us. I leave you with this quote by Epictetus "A man is not finished when he is defeated. He is finished when he quits." Giving up is not an option.
