Congratulations to St. John Public School

A big Congratulations to St. John Public School on your ESEA Distinguished School Award--Your hard work is being recognized!

North Dakota School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler said that St. John Elementary School is being honored for exceptional academic achievement and growth during the past two years.


They will get the Distinguished Schools Award from the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators which consists of state school officials who administer federal education aid programs.


St. John Elementary was chosen for academic achievement and growth of at least 10 percent annually in English language arts over two years.


St. John High School was honored last year for exceptional student performance and academic growth for at least two years.


Congratulations to all the hard working, dedicated educators at St. John Public School--you've earned it!

Beth Houf is Coming to the January In-Service as Keynote Speaker


Beth Houf is the proud principal of Fulton Middle School in central Missouri. She is the Co-Author of Lead Like a PIRATE: Make School Amazing for Your Students and Staff. Beth also serves as a facilitator for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Leadership Academy, providing monthly training to state educational leaders.

Beth is an international presenter and consultant. She is also active in her local, state and national principal associations. Beth is an adjunct professor at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.


Fulton Middle School was recognized as a Missouri Exemplary Professional Learning Community and Solution Tree Model Professional Learning Community in 2019.


Beth was named a Missouri Exemplary New Principal in 2011, the Missouri National Distinguished Principal for 2016 the 2019 National Association of Secondary School Principals Digital Principal of the Year, the EducationDive 2019 Principal of the Year and the 2021-2022 Missouri Secondary School Principal of the Year. Beth also serves as a principal advisor for Future Ready Schools and is a Solution Tree PLC at Work Associate. Beth’s proudest accomplishments are her two sons, Paul and Dawson. She has been honored to help lead schools that both have attended. 


We can't wait to see her in-person this January 15!

Music Education PLC

NCEC Music Teachers spent the day at a Music PLC in Drake-Anamoose. The day was spent sharing best practices, lesson designs, concert ideas and learning how AI can enhance their organization and structure of their classroom.

Fall LETRS 2 Meets in Rugby


It was LETRS Day Volume II for NCEC Teachers! The day was filled with “food” themed activities! Thanks to Kaley and Chantel for the interesting day!



LETRS® provides K-12 educators with an in-depth understanding of the science behind teaching literacy and gives them the background and depth of knowledge to teach language and literacy skills to every student. Designed to be the cornerstone of a multiyear, systemic literacy improvement initiative, LETRS® is the most respected comprehensive professional development course for instructors of reading, spelling, and related language skills.

CPR Training for Drake Students

NCEC's Katie Tamburrino spent a day teaching CPR to students in Drake and Anamoose Public Schools. They were a great group!

T4 Tools Trades Torque Tech is the premier way for tomorrow’s workforce to get an up-close look at the inner workings of industry!


Students who attend will participate in hands-on learning sessions from leaders in the following industries:

•  Agriculture/Natural Resources/Precision Agriculture

•  Aviation/Unmanned Aircraft Systems

•  Emergency Management/Health Care/Law Enforcement
