Brian Palmer, Bottineau

Two Elementary Principals from our region were awarded the NDAESP Bell Ringer Award.

The Bell Ringer Award was established by Clarence Corneil, the first National Distinguished Principal in North Dakota. He established this award during his long-time leadership in the NDAESP The award was originally called the "You Done Good" Award to recognize and celebrate accomplishments or contributions by association members. The award identifies those individuals who are nominated by their peers for their positive contributions, for making a difference, for "doing good."

Congratulations to Christy Lee from Westhope Elementary and Brian Palmer from Bottineau Elementary. NCEC is proud of you and all you do for your school and students!

The NCEC Team spent time spreading the word over the last month about how the new statewide ND Educational Hub is up and running for educators across the state.

Kevin and Leah got a chance to head to Bismarck and present at all three mid-winter conferences for school administrators. The feedback received was extremely encouraging as work continues to build out the system providing educators convenient access to more PD and Trainings.

If you have any questions about the ND Hub, feel free to reach out directly to Kevin or Leah or simply email [email protected] and they can help you out!

In it, schools within NCEC will have the opportunity to engage in PD and training aimed at supporting secondary reading, building writing curriculum, and being trained on and implementing current strategies like LETRS, and more.

Additionally, all REAs across the state are working with districts to better marry the strategies of SoR with MTSS.

NCEC is working on meeting the specific needs of its member districts; requests and suggestions can be sent to Leah Johnson.

Check DPI Science of Reading page often for updates and resources.
