Personal Finance Institutes at UNO & UNK
Each Institute is an intensive four day residential training that culminates in participants taking the Working in Support of Education (W!se) national certification to teach personal finance. Each participant is required to complete a pretest, 20 hours of prework, and then attend the 4 day in-person training.
Dr. Jamie Wagner, UNO Center Director organized and led an Institute at UNO (July 11-14) where we had 27 participants and a 89% pass rate on the certification exam. Many thanks to our UNO Institute Sponsor – The Weitz Foundation
Alyse Pflanz, UNK Center Director, organized and led the Institute at UNK (July 18-21) where we had 29 participants and an 88% pass rate on the certification exam. Many thanks to our UNK Institute Sponsor – The Nebraska Credit Union League
Investor Education: Investing 101 for Teachers
We had so much fun at 'Investing 101 for Teachers' learning how to implement the Stock Market Game into the classroom. Thank you to Claire McHenry, Deputy Director Securities Bureau, Nebraska Department of Banking & Finance and Brett Burchett, FP Wealth Management, for your time and excellent presentations. Thank you to our sponsor, Investor Protection Trust.
Lindsay Tillinghast, Lincoln Center Director

Welcome,
Lindsay Tillinghast!
Meet Lindsay Tillinghast, our new Lincoln Center Director! For the past 14 years, Lindsay taught economics and personal finance to juniors and seniors at Lincoln Southeast High School. She loves all things ECON/FinLit and is passionate about increasing economic and financial literacy among young people and adults. This fall, in addition to her Center Director duties, she will be teaching macroeconomics for pre-service teachers at UNL. She is an excellent addition to the team and we are excited to see her grow in her new position.

Personal Finance Presentations for Husker Athletes
On July 5th and August 9th, Dr. Jennifer Davidson and Lindsay Tillinghast had the pleasure of teaching lessons about financial wellness, including budgeting, saving, and investing, to UNL student-athletes at Memorial Stadium. The introduction of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) makes this topic especially important.
