The Creation of the NCFH Logo
On this 45th anniversary, NCFH would like to acknowledge Luis Guerra for lending his artistry to the creation of the NCFH logo. In 1976, Mr. Guerra created a silkscreen print “Migrant Health” logo for the National Center for Farmworker Health, formally known as the National Migrant Referral Project (NMRP). The original “Migrant Health” logo is now in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. Luis Guillermo Guerra is a painter, sculptor, and storyteller who divides his time between Real de Catorce, a mountain village in San Luis Potosí, and Austin, Texas. He is a recipient of various awards, including the Siqueiros-Pollock Award in the Binational Border Painting Competition of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico. Guerra’s artwork is also in numerous collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, in Washington, D.C. For two decades, he narrated his Cuentos de la Sierra on NPR’s Latino USA. NCFH is thankful for Mr. Guerra’s contributions.

Ag Worker Access Campaign Update
|
|
It’s official! Health centers across the U.S. served more than 1 million Migratory and Seasonal Agricultural workers and their families in 2019. We’ve surpassed our halfway milestone to reaching our Campaign goal of 2 million Ag workers served, but we need to keep moving forward!
Under the guidance of the Ag Worker Access Campaign Task Force, the Campaign is focusing on three priority areas to assist health centers in reaching their goals around increasing access to quality healthcare for Ag workers, including:
- Partnership/Coalition building at local, regional and state levels
- Identification/dissemination of promising practices
- Administrative policy recommendations

Learning Collaboratives are Open and Accepting Participants!
|
|
Join one of NCFH’s new Learning Collaboratives (LC) to learn from both peers and experts in the field, and to collaborate and network with other Health Center staff. We have several LC options to choose from including Mental Health, Diabetes Control and Diabetes Prevention for Adults, Governance Training, Increase Access to Care (IAC) and IAC Plus, SDOH Screening, and SDOH Community Partnerships. Our Learning Collaboratives provide workforce development training; offer resources and tools; explore strategies and promising practices; and present an opportunity to improve your service delivery programs for Migratory and Seasonal Agricultural Workers (MSAWs) and other vulnerable populations.
