Latest Updates
As the crisp air of November settles in, our community has once again shown its incredible capacity for kindness and compassion. Last month, we launched the "Warm Hugs and Cold Nights" campaign, aiming to provide warmth and comfort to those experiencing homelessness across North Carolina. Thanks to your overwhelming generous donations, we were able to distribute sleeping bags to countless individuals facing the harsh realities of the cold season without shelter.
We are partnering with Kindness Project Inc. (Hickory, NC), Allied Churches of Alamance County (Burlington, NC), and Block Love CLT (Charlotte, NC), to ensure that the sleeping bags reach those in greatest need. These partnerships allow us to extend our outreach and make a tangible difference in multiple communities across the state.
According to recent data from the 2023 HUD Point in Time Count, 9,754 North Carolinians experience homelessness on any given night, with 35% of them living unsheltered in places not meant for human habitation. Additionally, among the most vulnerable populations, 2,554 people are part of families, 777 are veterans, and 2,223 are adults aged 55 and older. These statistics highlight the urgent need for continued efforts to provide essential resources and support.
Each sleeping bag being delivered is more than just a means to fend off the chill—it is a symbol of hope and a tangible reminder that our community cares deeply about every one of its members.
The success of the "Warm Hugs and Cold Nights" campaign is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose. While we have made significant strides in supporting our homeless neighbors, the journey is far from over. As winter approaches, we encourage everyone to continue contributing to initiatives that aid those in need. Together, we can ensure that no one has to face the cold nights alone.

Standing Strong Together—Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts | |
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our community faced unprecedented challenges. Homes were damaged, families were displaced, and the path to recovery seemed daunting. In response to this crisis, we joined forces with The Life Center in Lenoir, NC, and other local churches to spearhead a comprehensive relief effort aimed at helping those affected rebuild their lives.
The collaboration focused on collecting essential supplies such as non-perishable food, clean water, clothing, and hygiene products. The outpouring of support was incredible—donations flooded in from all corners of the state, filling trucks with much-needed resources. Volunteers dedicated countless hours to sorting and distributing these supplies to the hardest-hit areas, ensuring that aid reached those in dire need swiftly and efficiently.
This united effort not only provided immediate relief but also strengthened the bonds within our community. It showcased the resilience and generosity that define us, proving that when we stand together, we can overcome even the most formidable challenges. As recovery continues, we encourage everyone to remain engaged—whether through volunteering, donating, or offering support—to help all those affected by Hurricane Helene find stability and hope for the future.

Giving Tuesday 2024
This Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, we invite you to make a meaningful impact by supporting our new initiative, STARR, currently in development in collaboration with the Department of Adult Corrections (DAC).
The STARR program is dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening relationships between incarcerated individuals and their families, fostering connections that are essential for healing and successful reintegration into society.
Our partnership with the DAC aims to create opportunities for open communication, understanding, and support. By focusing on the human element within the correctional system, STARR seeks to reduce recidivism rates and promote positive outcomes not just for those incarcerated, but for their loved ones as well.

Your generous donation this Giving Tuesday will directly contribute to the resources and programs needed to bring STARR to life.
Together, we can make a profound difference by mending relationships and offering hope for a brighter future.
