Dual Enrollments in NCFlex Plans
As noted in the NCFlex Guides, employees and their dependents cannot be double covered on any of the NCFlex plans. Although some employees and/or their dependents may be dually enrolled by mistake, double coverage is not allowed and we are in the process of correcting these.
Cleanup of these dual enrollments has begun with the Accident plan. Last week letters were sent out to all employees with dual coverage in the Accident plan (view the letter
HERE
). This includes spouses enrolled on their own and each other's plans, both spouses covering children on their plans, or even both spouses covering the whole family. Options were given for correcting this, and the phone number for Benefitfocus was provided. Employees must call Benefitfocus by March 31 or a decision will be made for them (as noted on the letter).
To prevent future dual enrollments in the Accident plan, an update has been made in the eBenefits platform.
Going forward, efforts are being made to also correct dual enrollments in the AD&D and Group Term Life plans. More details to come.
