An Important Message for NC Health Benefit Representatives
July 2021
Preparing for Open Enrollment
stones_balance_beach.jpg
As we move quickly through summer, Open Enrollment will be here before we know it. For NCFlex benefits, the only notable change will be in one category of dental rates.

While the special time-limited discount negotiated for 2021 dental rates will end, costs for the Low and Classic options will not change. There will be an increase in the High option. Here are the 2022 dental rates:
For Flexible Spending Accounts, in February we announced the most recent changes allowed by the IRS and adopted by NCFlex, affecting 2020 and 2021 HCFSA and DDCFSA accounts which allows 100% rollover of participants' 2021 health care flexible spending account into 2022. The IRS has not yet made any announcements for future plan years. If we learn of and adopt any new changes, we will communicate this on our website and through this newsletter.
NCFlex Guides and Benefits Summary

The 2022 guides will be available next month to view and order. We will notify you when they have been posted.

For the 2021 guides, please place orders for any guides you will need for the remainder of the year by August 31. The guides and calendars can be ordered by visiting www.shopgoldner.com/ncflex.

Additionally, the 2021 State of NC Benefits Summary featuring NCFlex plans and other benefits is available on our website. The 2021 UNC Benefits Summary Guide is also available online.
Employee Webinar Opportunity - August

NCFlex Dental Plan through MetLife
Next month we will discuss the NCFlex Dental plan through Metlife. We will go over the differences in the three plans, what in-network vs. out-of-network means, how to look up claims, and we will be available for questions.

This information has been shared in the July Member Newsletter, but feel free to share the webinars page with your employees also: https://oshr.nc.gov/ncflex-benefits-employee-webinars.

Don't forget, the webinars page also includes recordings of prior sessions. Scroll towards the bottom of the page for related, helpful documents.
Staff Changes and New Vendor Contact

Sarah West is no longer on our NCFlex team, but we are happy to share that she is now NCFlex's new Voya contact for HR staff.

LifeHelp still remains our first contact for Term Life, Accident and AD&D product related issues and their email is ncflex@lifehelp.com. Sarah will be our second contact and her email is Sarah.West@voya.com.
Requesting an NCFlex Presentation for Employees
Last month we sent out a survey regarding upcoming events for your employees and whether you were interested in virtual vs. in-person events. The results were pretty evenly split with a lot of you still interested in virtual, some interested in having us onsite, while others wanted more information or were not sure yet.

At this time, we are scheduling events around your interests to accommodate what works best for your group. Of course, this could change as COVID conditions continue to evolve. We will work with you individually on your needs and adjust later if necessary.

If you would like to request an event for your employees, please complete our NCFlex Site Visit Request 2021 (this applies to both in-person and virtual requests).
Visit our HBR Webpage for newsletter archives (HBR and Member) from the last six months, guide orders, exception form, and more.
