Cancer Beneficiaries - New in eBenefits

Employees can now assign beneficiaries to their Cancer and Specified Disease Plan. NCFlex will be sending a communication to members on how this can be done, but only for those who have an email address listed in the Benefitfocus system. Reduction in Hours - New Life Event for HBRs with Access

Due to a recent clarification on the Section 125 rules in which our plan is governed, employees can now drop their dental or vision insurance due to "reduction in hours". Health Benefit Representatives who can create life events for employees will be able to assist employees who request a change to their benefits due to this reason. For those HBRs without this access, it's important to consult with your employees who may be in this situation to find out if this is something they would like to do. If so, follow the necessary chain in order to have the life event created. This situation is for an employee working 21 - 40 hours and changing to less hours, but still 20 or above.

Please note that if an employee falls below 20 hours they become ineligible for NCFlex benefits and all benefits will automatically be dropped. This does not require any action if you currently receive an eBN payroll file.

Although "reduction in hours" allows the drop of dental and/or vision, "increase in hours" is still not a valid life event.

Voya Evidence of Insurability (EOI)
Participant Submission of EOI Form

Employees who participate in the Voya Term Life product and have not submitted an EOI from changes they made during open enrollment, can still do so.

At this point, all employees who made changes during open enrollment to their term life insurance which required an EOI should have already received their EOI form. If not, please have them reach out to LifeHelp at 1-877-464-5111. The due date for these forms has already passed, however, if a participant submits the form after the deadline, Voya will still consider these for up to 6 months.
HBR Training - additional dates for Webex

We have added another Webex session for the HBR Spring/Winter NCFlex training (this training has ended, but this session is being added for anyone who missed the opportunity). This training covers administrative topics outside of what we normally discuss. Please note that we have added this to immediately follow the New HBR Training session below, for anyone who would like to participate in both.

New HBR NCFlex Training

If you or any of your staff are new to NCFlex benefits, or would like a refresher on the basics, we are offering our New HBR Training each quarter. Below is an upcoming session.

This New HBR Training is an introduction to NCFlex. The first half of the day will focus on the NCFlex products (Benefit Overview) and the second half will focus on the NCFlex Administration Manual. This will provide a basic understanding of the NCFlex program.
