An Important Message for NC Health Benefit Representatives
HBR Special Alert - January 2019
Winter/Spring HBR Training sign up

Beginning in February, NCFlex will host training sessions for Benefit Representatives across North Carolina.

This NCFlex HBR Training will focus on the administrative side of NCFlex rather than the plan details. The training will offer HBRs knowledge, tools and an opportunity to collaborate with their fellow reps to help improve administration of the NCFlex benefits to employees.

*An introduction training is available for HBRs or HR staff who are new to NCFlex benefits. New HBR training details are listed at the end of this email.

Focus will be on the following topics:

  • Qualifying Life Events
  • Leave of Absences and Transfers
  • Exceptions
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Discrimination Testing
  • HSA and FSA Coordination

We will break for lunch (on your own) and end with a review of Benefitfocus functionality and reports for HBRs who have access to the Benefitfocus platform.

New HBR Training Available

If you are new to NCFlex benefits in your role, or would like a refresher on the basics, we recommend attending one of our web trainings below prior to the trainings above.

This New HBR Training is an introduction to NCFlex. The first half of the day will focus on the NCFlex products (Benefit Overview) and the second half will focus on the NCFlex Administration Manual, with a break for lunch in between. This will help to give you a basic understanding of the NCFlex program prior to getting into more complex details as in the Winter/Spring HBR Training.

Sign up by clicking one of the links below. Details will follow regarding how to join these web-based sessions. Be sure to sign up for both the Benefit Overview and Admin Manual Training, as they are separated out into different events. This training is being offered on two different days and you can choose to attend both sessions in one day or each session on a different day.
