Naming (and Updating) Beneficiaries

Did you know, you can name a beneficiary for NCFlex's Cancer, Critical Illness, Group Term Life, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment plans? You can also update those beneficiaries at anytime during the year, not just during open enrollment. Maybe you've experienced a life event such as birth, marriage, divorce, death in the family, and your need to make some changes, there is no deadline for updating beneficiaries.

This article describes why it is so important to name beneficiaries for your benefits: The Importance of Naming Beneficiaries.

This document will help show you how to add or change your beneficiaries for your NCFlex benefits.

Preventing Eye Injuries

With warm weather approaching and everyone getting out to do more around the house, it's important to remember eye safety. Prevent Blindness has declared April Women's Eye Health and Safety Month and American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) has declared April Sports Eye Safety Month.

According to AAO, more than 40 percent of eye injuries every year are related to sports or recreational activities. Not only are you at risk from objects, chemicals and dust, but the sun can also cause damage that can be avoided with the right protection. Learn more about Eye Injury Facts from the AAO.

Don't forget, if you have the NCFlex Accident Plan and happen to have an eye injury, you may be eligible to file a claim if you seek medical attention.
FSA Changes for 2021 - Reminder

Over the last few months, the IRS has issued information on FSA changes employers may adopt for their employee accounts.

As a reminder, the changes that NCFlex adopted were noted in a February Alert and were also discussed on an FSA Changes webinar.
