The NCJCC Board of Directors met "in person" this past Sunday using a video technology App, ZOOM, to discuss and decide how we can best serve our members during this very difficult time with a public health crisis affecting the lives of our families, our friends....our Nation and World Communities.

We are following the guidance of our national and local public health officials about what we can do as individuals, and as members of the NCJCC , Congregation B'nai Harim to slow the spread of the corona virus pandemic.

In light of the most recent recommendations and protocols of the CDC, Health officials of the State of California, and our local County Health Departments; the Members of NCJCC Board have decided to follow the more rigorous course of action to insure we play a significant role in helping to reduce the spread of this virus among our local and world wide populations.

The following is in effect immediately and indefinitely as of Today.
We will evaluate the situation every two weeks as we move forward ...  taking action against this evolving health crisis ..... one that is causing real changes in how we are living our lives each and every day.... and, Yes, One that our health and healing experts are working hard to learn how to deal with every minute of every day.

.
1.Our Center... Our Home 🏑 our Shul on the Hill at 506 Walsh Street , Grass Valley is CLOSED until Further Notice

There will be  NO group or on site Activities, Programs, Meetings, Shabbat Services Study, Classes   until we learn how we can live Safely with one another.

This decision was difficult but it is the Only Decision we could have made at this very difficult, very challenging time as each of us tried to come to terms with the reality of major public health crisis that most know little about... certainly not enough today to experience a sense of relief ... never the less we will remain actively involved in communications with those who have the talent, the skills, to help us deal with the situation as best we can ... knowing answers may not come easy ... or as soon as we like... need ... but they will come.

We are committed to Learning new ways of how we can best be of Service to you .....with you ... for you and each other as quickly as possible .

Future decisions about how to keep ourselves our families, our friends safe, and to remain safe will be guided and determined by the CDC, other health experts, and our local health care leaders .

One or two of us will continue to access our Administrative Office on a limited basis to continue management and performance of those Tasks essential for conducting timely Business matters.

Rabbi David, Members of the Board, Teresa Eckerling , Office Administrator, Our Sisterhood, Men's Club.... Rabbi's Kids, Our Teachers , our many committed Community Leaders and I are here for You... Please ASK for help of any kind... no request is too small or too Big... we are working together as a family... a community. We Will get through this Together with ,Care, Learning, with Support , Patience, Understanding , with Compassion and Love πŸ’•

As we Grow together from Strength to Strength

πŸ’œB'ahava , Iola πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™ƒ

Also .... ....
Within the next day or two you will be directly contacted by one or more of our Board Members just to let you know that ... YES we are here to listen, to help . They will most likely give you a phone call , a text or email .

Please let us know if you have changed your contact information so we won't miss discovering how you are and what we can do to be of assistance.

On another note

The Center.. its internal offices, classrooms, entrance, sanctuary, Bimah , Social Hall, Entrances and Bathrooms were cleaned / disinfected on March 16th.

Performance of this extra due diligence related to cleaning: disinfecting the internal building and external areas as needed / door handles, plastic / metal surfaces , toys , tools etc will continue frequently with some areas daily.

We will continue with these enhanced protocols upon "coming home ".

How To Protect Yourself and Others from the Corona Virus

β€’ Self-isolate if you are 65 years of age older OR if you have a compromised immune system or a serious underlying medical condition.

This effort will help protect those most vulnerable to serious illness caused by this disease.

β€’ Wash hands with soap and water for a
 minimum 20 seconds
β€’ Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with
 unwashed hands.
β€’ Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
β€’ Stay away from work, school or other people
if you become sick with respiratory
 symptoms like fever and cough.

β€’ Follow guidance from public health officials. Find local coronavirus information at  http://www.mynevadacounty.com/coronavirus .

In addition, Nevada County Public Health states that with increased community transmission across the state and increasing numbers of cases in nearby counties, we should assume that there are likely undetected cases and act as though there is community transmission occurring in Nevada County, so everyone should be aware and practice the recommended steps to keep themselves healthy, including social distancing.

Public Health is working with partners in health care, education, business, law enforcement and others to prevent and slow the spread of this illness, and every community member will need to do their part as well if we want to preserve the public health and safety of our county’s residents older OR if you have a compromised immune system or a serious underlying medical condition.
