Run for Their Lives:

Run/walk event calling for the immediate release of the hostages held by Hamas

Every Sunday, 10 am, Belmont Shore

Please join Long Beach/Orange County's weekly 18-minute walk/run to bring attention to the hostages and bring them home now. Many walk/runs take place weekly all over the world as nonpolitical and not promoting any ideology – the message is just to release the hostages and bring them home.

The walk/run will be this Sunday, August 18, at 10 am at the start of the beach walk path at Alamitos Bay in Belmont Shore (where Bayshore meets Ocean). Please wear a red shirt. If you have a hostage poster, please bring it. Also, if you have flags from any of the countries that hostages are from, please bring them.

Invite friends and family. This is a humanitarian issue so everyone is invited. One does not need to be Jewish.

A Home in Long Beach

Postcard writing is off to a great start! Folks are writing at home and at our gatherings.

On July 30, four of us gathered and completed more than 60 postcards and on August 11, another 9 of us met and completed 90 postcards!

Our last gathering of the summer is Wednesday, August 21, 7 to 9 pm at a home near Cal State Long Beach.

We are writing to Virginia! Virginia starts early voting on September 20th! We’re also writing to Georgia and Florida.

The closer the election gets, the more important our work becomes.  Please join us!

Unveil Your Voting Power

With Planned Parenthood

Saturday August 24, 10 am to 1 pm in person

Abortion access is under attack, even in California. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, access to abortion nationwide - yes, even in California - hangs in the balance.

The road to reproductive freedom nationwide runs through us: California voters. California voters matter. YOUR vote matters. It will take all of us to protect reproductive freedom.

Join Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties for #InMyVotingEra: Unveiling Your Voting Power to learn the skills you need to turn out your community for abortion access this election cycle.

Anaheim: Saturday, August 24th | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Support Jewish Community Priority

Bills Against Antisemitism

Last week, ADL staff and volunteer leaders traveled up and down the Golden Coast to Sacramento in the fight against antisemitism on campus and ensure that biased curriculum does not make its way into California schools. In coalition with JPAC and 80 other Jewish communal advocates, ADL was there to ensure that your concerns are heard and to show that we’re doing all we can to fight back against the rise of antisemitism and extremism.

In this moment, your voice is needed to ensure that our elected officials take action in this critical moment. Three bills in the Senate Appropriations Committee (AB 1979, AB 2918 and AB 2925) and three bills in the Assembly Appropriations Committee (SB 1287, SB 1277 and SB 85) are facing key votes this week!

Will you take 30 seconds to contact the Senate and Assembly Appropriation Committees to support key pieces of legislation?
