Run for Their Lives:
Run/walk event calling for the immediate release of the hostages held by Hamas
Every Sunday, 10 am, Belmont Shore
| |
|
Please join Long Beach/Orange County's weekly 18-minute walk/run to bring attention to the hostages and bring them home now. Many walk/runs take place weekly all over the world as nonpolitical and not promoting any ideology – the message is just to release the hostages and bring them home.
The walk/run will be at 10 am at the start of the beach walk path at Alamitos Bay in Belmont Shore (where Bayshore meets Ocean). Please wear a red shirt. If you have a hostage poster, please bring it. Also, if you have flags from any of the countries that hostages are from, please bring them.
Invite friends and family. This is a humanitarian issue so everyone is invited. One does not need to be Jewish.
For more information, contact member Dr. Mark Dressner at cesto@aol.com.

Back to School: Sheila Katz in Conversation with US Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten
Tuesday, September 10, 11 am
| |
| |
On September 10th at 11 am PT, please join NCJW CEO Sheila Katz and US Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten for an exclusive virtual conversation about the Department of Education's critical work combating antisemitism and protecting the rights of all students and NCJW's key partnership, all through the lens of Jewish women's leadership.
We all watched as this past Spring, Jewish students on campuses across the country were impacted by antisemitism in new ways. As parents, grandparents, and family members, we understand the issues that face the students we care about and are seeking ways to take action to protect them as they head back to school.
During this webinar, you will get an inside look into the key role the Department of Education and NCJW have been playing to ensure campuses remain nurturing environments where every student can thrive. This timely discussion will also serve as a guide and call to action for NCJW leaders around the country to push back against hate and support the students in our communities as they return to campus this fall.
