Email Governor Newsom

to sign Economic Equity Bills

Deadline Today!

Please help our allies at Stronger California and Equal Rights Advocates get these final bills signed by Governor Gavin Newsom! The deadline is today!

Paid Family Leave (SB 951)

SB 951 in particular is at a crucial crossroads. If vetoed, Paid Family Leave in California will drop down to 55%, meaning workers who need to take time off for illness or mental health reasons, to care for a family member, or bond with a new baby, will only receive 55% of their regular rate of pay. SB 951 would make that rate 70% for most, and 90% for the lowest paid among us.

Chosen Family (AB 1041)

Help ensure equity in workplace leave laws! Low-wage, immigrant, LGBTQIA+ workers, or those who live in multigenerational households particularly rely on more than just the nuclear family model for care. AB 1041 would allow workers to take time off to care for those who are most important to them.

Bereavement Leave (AB 1949)

Workers shouldn't have to stress about the security of their job when taking time to grieve for the loss of a loved one. AB 1949 would provide up to five days of job-protected bereavement leave for workers to take care of arrangements at a very difficult time.

Planned Parenthood Prop 1 Day of Action

Saturday, October 8

10 am - 12:30 pm, Zoom

Planned Parenthood needs your help!

In the upcoming General Election, California Voters will have the opportunity to enshrine the right to abortion and contraception in the state constitution by voting YES on Prop 1

Proposition 1 will amend the state constitution to explicitly prohibit the state from denying or interfering with personal choices related to reproductive care. It declares that individuals have a fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and to use or refuse contraceptives.

It is essential that California continue to have the strongest laws in the nation so that we can continue to be a beacon of hope for those who may need to access essential healthcare.

Check out the Proposition 1 Activist Toolkit to learn more about the importance of voting Yes on Prop 1.

Join us for our Prop 1 Day of Action on Saturday, October 8th from 10 am - 12:30 pm to personally make a difference in the fight to protect reproductive freedom in California and beyond.

Now more than ever, we need your help to encourage voters to turn out in the upcomingGeneral Election on November 8th and vote YES on Prop 1 to set an example for the rest of the country that abortion is a fundamental right and should be protected as such in our Constitution.

SIGN UP for our Prop 1 Day of Action today!

We will provide all of the training, resources, and support you may need to contact fellow voters and make a difference from the comfort of your own home. No experience necessary!
