Promote the Vote, Protect the Vote in 2022

At a Member’s Home on Monday, Sept. 12, 4 pm

The midterm elections are only two months away! There are many different ways to take action to register, educate, and mobilize voters. Commit to doing at least one of the following:

  • Write postcards and Vote Forward letters with us on Monday, Sept. 12 at 4 pm at a member’s patio in Long Beach. RSVP to Chana Ham-Rosebrock.

  • Write Vote Forward letters from home: If you have already participated in Vote Forward, log in at https://votefwd.org and pick the Florida “social” campaign marked with an "S".; print out your letters and addresses; If you have not participated in Vote Forward but would like to do so, please email Deb Lelchuk at advocacy@ncjwlongbeach.org for the instructions. We have envelopes for anyone who wants them! We can provide letters and addresses too if you can’t print.

  • Phone bank to Get Out the Vote (GOTV) with Dayenu during NCJW’s Abortion Access Week of Action on Thursday, September 15Register here.

  • Make sure your voter registration is up to date. Have you moved in the last year? Have you changed your name? Use NCJW’s voter registration portal to make sure you can vote come November. And go further: Make sure your family and friends are registered.

Last month NCJW CEO Sheila Katz joined League of Women Voters CEO Virginia Kase Solomón in conversation about the midterm elections.  If you missed the conversation, you can watch the recording here

NCJW Abortion Access Week of Action - September 12-16

In 5782, we lost our legal right to abortion. In 5783, the start of our new year, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to reproductive freedom for all. As we approach the holiest season in the Jewish calendar, NCJW is galvanizing the Jewish community to take a stand for abortion access. The NCJW Abortion Access Week of Action closes the Jewish year of 5782 with a push of abortion access activism the week of September 12-16.

As reproductive health clinics shut down across the country — entirely in certain states — Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs), which spread misinformation about pregnancy and abortion, are thriving. It’s time for that to stop. We want  to tell our Members of Congress to support the Stop Abortion Disinformation (SAD) Act.

If passed, this bill would ensure people receive accurate, objective, and complete medical information when seeking reproductive care. No more myths, anti-abortion talking points disguised as medical information, or state-sponsored shaming.

What can you do? Use our easy form to reach out to your lawmakers to urge they co-sponsor and support the SAD Act. Every vote will count!
