Dear NCMS Community,
I am pleased to share some exciting updates with you. As you may recall, this year’s focus is to raise awareness of human trafficking and support its victims. We are proud to announce a new and impactful collaboration between the Northern Colorado Medical Society (NCMS), A Courageous Rose, and member Dr. Aaron Hoover. This partnership has led to the establishment of a new nonprofit organization called Jubilee. Jubilee’s mission is to support survivors of human trafficking by helping them remove branding tattoos, empowering them to reclaim their identities and move forward. To support this effort, we will soon be launching a fundraiser to acquire the necessary laser equipment—please stay tuned for more details.
In addition, we are nearing completion of a Continuing Medical Education (CME) course that will provide medical professionals with key strategies for identifying and supporting trafficking victims. This course will soon be available on the NCMS website.
To recap our recent social events, we’ve enjoyed a “Meet and Greet” with medical students, a book club gathering, and a summer social—thank you to those who participated! As always, we encourage you to stay engaged and join us for upcoming social and professional opportunities. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly or contact Crystal Goodman.
Warm regards,
Narina Grove, MD
President, Northern Colorado Medical Society
