NCNW Congratulates One of Its Own
Mai Sennaar, Playwright
"THE BROKEN WINDOW THEORY"
|
Greetings!:
Please join NCNW as we congratulate one our own, Playwright Mai Sennaar, as she debuts a new play called The Broken Window Theory. A senior in the undergraduate program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Mai is a member of the Greater Baltimore NCNW Section.
A contemporary piece, The Broken Window Theory is focused on a visual artists' attempt to come to terms with Huntington's Disease and the turbulence it causes in her relationship with her only son. Audiences can expect a masterfully-crafted, intensively dramatic, two-character event.
Her production crew includes Diana Wharton, an award-winning Broadway composer; Tony Award nominee, Michele Shay as the Director; and Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins in the lead role. Ms. Pinkins' television credits include Law & Order, The Cosby Show, Cold Case, Criminal Minds and All My Children.
Mai has received high praise for her writing by respected professionals in the industry such as the head of Mai's department, Richard Wesley, Chair of the Dramatic Writing Department, screenwriter for Uptown Saturday Night and Let's Do It Again and Broadway actress, Novella Nelson, who has also appeared in the television crime drama, Law & Order and has big screen credits that include Antowne Fisher and The Devil's Advocates. |
