Olympic and Paralympic Day
Olympic & Paralympic Day is a celebration of the Olympic and Paralympic movement and the joy of sport by millions of people around the world. This day is celebrated annually on June 23, with events taking place from late May through early July. The events celebrates fitness, well-being, sport culture, and educational opportunities, while promoting the Olympic and Paralympic values of excellence, friendship, respect, determination, inspiration, courage, and equality.
For 2023, NCOPA is planning Olympic & Paralympic Day in Northern California. We want to hear from you! What would you like to do to celebrate? Past Olympic & Paralympic Days have included sports clinics, panels of athletes discussing reflections on prior Games, virtual races, and city proclamations. If you would like to encourage your city to join in the festivities, here is a template of a city proclamation.
