New location for the Feb & Mar Board Meetings
The February and March Board meetings will be held at a new location in San Francisco! This is part of an effort to make the meetings easier to get to for those who prefer to take public transit into SF or who are coming straight from work. Come to the meeting and let us know what you think!
Tues, Jan 15
Social gathering starts at 7pm
Business meeting beings at 7:30pm
181 2nd Street, San Francisco
Parking: there is a lot directly across 2nd street.
Thank you Ivan Smiljanic for providing the venue!
Thank you Greg & Vivian
Thanks also to outgoing President Greg Massialas and his wife Vivian for letting us set up literally in the middle of The M-Team Fencing Center for many years now. It is fun to see the future greats of the fencing world getting their start as we filter in for our meeting. Thanks also to Vivian for taking such good care of us. We are grateful for your generosity and hospitality! (And...we may be back!)

Allison Wagner & Caitlin Smith join WABN Mentor program
NorCal Olympians Allison Wagner and Caitlin (Leverenz) Smith will be part of the 2019 Women Athletes Business Network Mentoring Program, which is sponsored by the International Women's Forum.
Launched in Rio de Janiero, Brazil in 2013, the Women Athletes Business Network harnesses the often untapped leadership potential of elite women athletes as they transition from their sporting careers.
Only 25 women are picked to be part of this program every year. A total of six US Olympians earned a spot in the 2019 mentee class. In addition to Allison and Caitlin, Aja Evans (bobsled), Julia Mancuso (alpine skiing), Iris Zimmerman (fencing), and Margaret Hogan (canoe/kayak), were chosen to participate. Congratulations to all!

Olympic Day: Registration is open!
When it comes to Olympic Day, our chapter is always one of the most active. Let's do it again this year.
Please consider ways that you can spread Olympic & Paralympic spirit in your neighborhood, at work, or through your community's organizations.
If you are willing to appear at an event, please register today. You can receive notifications about opportunities near your home as new events are added to the calendar.
If you are planning to host an event (could be as simple as a brown bag lunch with your co-workers, or as complex as a sports camp for kids), register your event with the USOC. You'll receive an Olympic Day toolkit, and can help connect your event with other Olympic & Paralympic athletes who are interested in participating.
Let's do this NorCal!
