FROM THE DIRECTOR'S DESK:
A Season of Gratitude, a Milestone Ahead
As we move into fall, I find myself reflecting on one word: gratitude.
First, thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s San Diego Gives Day of Giving. To the nonprofit organizations that shared their stories, the donors who invested in their missions, the board members and volunteers who spread the word, and the many partners who helped amplify the campaign, thank you. Your participation demonstrated what is possible when our community comes together in support of the organizations that serve San Diego every day.

I am equally grateful to the nonprofit professionals who have joined this year’s Impact Leadership Accelerator cohort. Choosing to invest in leadership, especially during a time when our sector faces increasing demands and limited resources, is a powerful commitment. Over the coming months, these leaders will learn from one another, build meaningful relationships, challenge themselves, and develop skills they can bring back to their organizations and communities.
These two programs reflect something fundamental about NCPC. Strong communities require strong nonprofits, and strong nonprofits require connected, supported and inspired people.
And now, as fall arrives, our attention begins to turn toward one of NCPC’s most cherished traditions: the Volunteer Awards Celebration (VAC).
Next April will be particularly meaningful as we celebrate our 40th VAC.
For four decades, this event has brought our community together to recognize the extraordinary people and organizations who give their time, talent, resources and hearts to make San Diego better. As we prepare for this milestone celebration, we have an opportunity not only to honor our history, but also to celebrate who we are today and imagine what comes next.
There is tremendous excitement and anticipation surrounding our 40th celebration, and I hope you will be part of it. Over the coming months, we will share more about how you can participate, nominate, partner and celebrate alongside us.
As always, thank you for being part of the NCPC community. Whether you give, volunteer, lead, learn, connect or simply help spread the word about the important work happening throughout our region, you are part of what makes this community strong.
We have much to celebrate, and even more to look forward to.
With gratitude,
Jim Davis
Executive Director
