A Message from NCPMA President Allen Langley

Dear fellow NCPMA members,

I am both humbled and excited to introduce myself to you as the new President of NCPMA. Having been a member of this association for 45 years, I have been fortunate to witness first-hand the growth of our profession and the role that NCPMA has played in shaping it. When I attended my first regional workshop decades ago, I could not have imagined that I would one day have the honor of serving in this capacity. Thank you for placing your trust in me; I take this responsibility seriously and will work hard on your behalf.

Our association has a proud history. For more than seventy years, NCPMA has been the leading trade association for pest management professionals in North Carolina.

We exist to provide our members and the public with up‑to‑date pest management information and to promote the continued cooperation and success of all pest management businesses across the state.

Member Benefits

Today our organization offers a wide range of benefits including continuing‑education opportunities like the Pest Control Technician’s School and regional workshops, business networking, legislative advocacy, monthly industry updates, and programs designed to promote our profession.

Whether you joined recently or, like me, have been part of this community for decades, those benefits are only possible because of the volunteer leadership and active participation of our members.

As I step into this role, I want to acknowledge and thank our immediate past president and the outgoing board for their leadership. Under their guidance, NCPMA expanded in‑person meetings, launched a new website and digital resources, and strengthened our relationships with partners and regulators. I also want to recognize the countless volunteers who serve on committees, host workshops, mentor technicians and technicians‑in‑training, and represent us in Raleigh and Washington.

Your dedication keeps NCPMA strong.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, there is much to be excited about. This year, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Pest Control Technician’s (PCT) School, a long‑held tradition that began at North Carolina State University and now attracts more than 1,000 attendees each year.

The school remains one of the best continuing‑education experiences in our industry, and we will continue to build on that legacy. Our new NC PestVets chapter launched in 2023 and is working to engage veterans and help them transition into pest management careers.

Programs like the Leadership Development Academy, PWIPM (Professional Women in Pest Management) and Premier Technician will continue to identify and train the next generation of leaders. We will also keep you informed on public‑policy issues and advocate for our industry at the state and national level.

My Goals for the Coming Year

My goals for the coming year are straightforward:

  • Strengthen member engagementWe will increase opportunities for face‑to‑face interaction – from board meetings to regional workshops – so that members can share ideas and build relationships together.
  • Elevate training and education. With rapidly changing regulations and technologies, ongoing education is critical. NCPMA will continue to offer high‑quality training and explore new platforms to make learning accessible to all members.
  • Expand our reach. We will continue promoting NCPMA to prospective members and the general public. Our industry’s reputation is built on professionalism and science-based pest management; together we can ensure that message is heard.
  • Listen and advocate. I invite your ideas and feedback. As president, I serve you, and I am committed to ensuring that NCPMA’s programs and policies reflect the needs of our diverse membership. Do not hesitate to reach out to me or any board member with suggestions or concerns.

In closing, thank you for the support you have shown me and for the confidence you have placed in this year’s leadership team. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, and, with your help, we will continue to build an association that educates, advocates and elevates pest management professionals across North Carolina.

I am proud to serve as your president and look forward to working with each of you to ensure that NCPMA remains the trusted voice for our industry.

With gratitude,

Allen Langley

President, North Carolina Pest Management Association
