NCPMA will be closed between Christmas and New Year's to allow our staff to spend time with their families and get charged up for the new year (and PCT!) If you have an urgent request and need to reach staff, please direct emails to ncinfo@pestworld.org.

If you are having a PCT registration issue during this time and contact ncinfo@pestworld.org by Dec. 28, we will honor the Regular Registration price when we return on Jan. 3.

Dear NCPMA Members:

As we close out 2021 and look forward to a new year, I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season from the North Carolina Pest Management Association Board of Directors.

The board has been working hard to meet our goal of focusing on our members throughout this year, and that goal continues into 2022 and beyond!

As representatives of NCPMA it’s all about the experience!

Public Policy Update: Regulation Proposed that will Impact Business Owners with 20 Employees or Less

**IMPORTANT**

NCPMA is hosting a management session on Tuesday morning, 1/25/21, at the 2022 PCT school, about proposed legislation from the Department of the Treasury that will affect you if your business has 20 or less employees. During this session, we will discuss the current status of the proposed rule, how it will affect you and the personal information that you will be required to submit if this provision passes.

If you are a business owner with 20 or fewer employees, you will want to attend this session.

Overview of Proposed BOI Provision

A beneficial owner information (BOI) provision which would require small businesses (20 or less employees) to report personally identifying information (such as name, birthdate, residential address, ID with picture, along with the same information and more relating to the actual business) to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) or face significant penalties was inserted into the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and unfortunately passed into law.

The first of three rules related to beneficial ownership has now been proposed and comments must be submitted prior to the deadline of Feb. 7, 2022. Since this is a proposed rule, there is not effective date yet, and some of it may change in response to comments submitted.
