We want to thank the participants, sponsors and volunteers who helped make this year's Bug Cup a big success!
The 2023 Bug Cup Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $20,000 to benefit the NCPMA Extension Program Endowment in Honor of Dr. Mike Waldvogel at North Carolina State University. The event was held Oct. 3 at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Raleigh and attracted over 100 golfers from across the pest management industry in North Carolina and Virginia.
“We are thankful to everyone who helped make this second annual golf tournament a success and helped raise funds to get us closer to our goal for the NCPMA Extension Program Endowment in Honor of Dr. Mike Waldvogel at North Carolina State University. This endowment is vital to ensuring the ongoing success of pest management education in our state,” said tournament director Kyle Franklin, who is a Manufacturer Representative for BASF Professional & Specialty Solutions based out of Research Triangle Park. “Thank you to the 27 teams and 28 sponsors who made this tournament possible.”
This was the second year for the charity golf event designed to raise funds for various charities, including the North Carolina Chapter of Professional Women In Pest Management and the NCPMA Extension Program Endowment in Honor of Dr. Mike Waldvogel at North Carolina State University (NCSU).
The Endowment supports the ongoing work of NCSU, focusing on supporting positions that directly contribute to the education of the pest management industry. Dr. Waldvogel is a retired Extension Associate Professor and Extension Specialist at NCSU’s Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.
