2019 PCT School: What you need to know
The PCT School is rapidly approaching, and we are so excited to see everyone at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham.
Here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare for this great event:
Date and Location: The 2019 PCT School will be held Jan. 27-31 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham. For information, visit our website.
Overflow Hotel Rooms: The Sheraton Imperial Hotel is sold out. If you still need to book your room for the 2019 PCT School, we have added a room block at the Springhill Suites by Marriott Raleigh Durham, located right next door to the Sheraton.
Download the App: The 2019 PCT School app is available now in
Apple and
Google Play stores. It's a free app that will put everything right at your fingertips. And, we'll be updating it with the latest information throughout the conference so you'll always have the most current program at hand.
Session Locations: To better serve our attendees, we have changed how our P-Phase and W-Phase sessions will be held. This year our speakers will rotate to different rooms to save our attendees from changing rooms all day. So, if you're attending the morning P-Phase sessions, you'll stay in the same room for the afternoon W-Phase sessions. Be sure to check the conference program in the 2019 PCT School app for more information.
New Sessions and Courses: From our NCSU Hands-On Spray School to our NWCOA Wildlife Training Course to the A.C.E. Course and Exam, we have added a lot of new items to this year's lineup. Check below to find out more about these great opportunities and register today because space is limited!

We are looking forward to the NCSU Hands-On Spray School and Live Learning Course. This course will be held off-site at the
NCSU Structural Pest Management Training Facility at 4000 Chi Road in Raleigh on Jan. 29.
T
his 4-hour, hands-on training session for pest management managers and technicians will focus on proper equipment handling, calibration and repair and how to ensure accurate pesticide application rates and techniques.
Join us on Jan. 29 at the NCSU Structural Pest Management Training Facility in Raleigh to learn:
- Complete B&G hand sprayer rebuilding
- Backpack sprayers both battery and hand operated
- Power rigs both battery and gasoline powered
- Calibrations
- Spray patterns
Space is limited at the Training Facility. So,
registration is required.
PLEASE NOTE: This course will be held off-site at the NCSU Structural Pest Management Training Facility at 4000 Chi Road in Raleigh. This is the only course that will NOT be held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel.

NWCOA Bat Standards Training Available at PCT School
We will also be hosting Wildlife Training by the National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA).
Join us at the 2019 PCT School on Jan. 31 for the NWCOA Bat Standards Course which is designed to aid in the survival and future of bats in North America as well as to educate those who perform bat exclusion service in residential and commercial structures.
The course will cover:
- Bat biology, behavior and identification
- Service Agreement language for bat removal and guano removal
- Seasonal restrictions
- Inspection techniques, equipment and safety
- And more!
Upon completion of the course and successful passing of a test, operators will be NWCOA Bat Standards Certified.
This is the first 8-hour wildlife course offered at the PCT School and is designed to provide a comprehensive educational opportunity to earn credits while learning the latest in control techniques.

NCPMA Website.

NCPMA Announces Proposed Slate of Nominees for 2019-2020 Membership Year
The NCPMA Nominations Committee has put forth the below proposed slate of nominees for the 2019 - 2020 membership year. In accordance with the NCPMA bylaws, a vote will be taken at the General Membership Meeting from 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in conjunction with the 2019 PCT School. Nominations can also be made from the floor for individuals to serve on the Board.

ACE Course and Exam
For the first time, we'll be offering the Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) Review Class and Exam from the Entomological Society of America (ESA) at the 2019 PCT School!
The ACE Review Course will be offered Monday, Jan. 28 from noon to 5 p.m. The ACE exam will be administered on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon.
In order to take the ACE exam, attendees must:
- Pay a fee of $355-$395 payable to the Entomological Society of America
- Receive prior approval by the ESA
- Submit an ACE Certification application by Dec. 24, 2018
