The Norwalk Community School District would like to inform the community of a new school board vacancy that will be filled during the upcoming school election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Director Kate Baldwin has recently announced her resignation from the Board of Directors effective November 2025. We sincerely thank Director Kate Baldwin for her dedicated service and contributions to the students, families, and staff of Norwalk.
With this resignation, three positions will now be on the ballot this fall:
- Two full four-year terms (ending in November 2029) – currently held by Directors Justin Fletcher and Brian Rausch.
- One partial term (ending in November 2027) – created by this resignation.
The Norwalk Board of Directors is made up of five at-large members who help set policy, oversee district governance, and support student achievement. Meetings are held monthly, with additional special sessions as needed.
Who Can Run?
Any resident located in the Norwalk Community School District who is a registered voter, at least 18 years old, and not employed by the District is eligible.
School Board Election Timeline:
- October 15: First day of absentee voting, where ballots are available to be mailed or voted in-person.
- October 20: Last day for the county auditor to receive requests for absentee ballots to be mailed.
- November 3: Last day for in-person absentee voting at the county auditor’s office.
- November 4: Election Day. Polling places will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM
