This past weekend, NCSD staff traveled to the Bronx to watch EPIC Theatre students perform their new piece about school segregation, entitled "Nothing Without Us," at a town hall event. If you are interested in bringing this play to your community, you can inquire
here. Many of you saw EPIC's last piece, "Laundry City," at our 2017 conference. (You can
watch it here if you missed it...)
Both pieces were commissioned by New York Appleseed.

The Center for the American South recently hosted a conversation between Dr. Elizabeth McRae and Dr. Katherine Charron.
About the event: "Together [McRae and Charron] challenge the idea that white supremacist politics have solely been furthered and maintained by white men. Instead, McRae's research for her book,
Mothers of Massive Resistance, shows that it was really the collective, grassroots, and sometimes mundane actions of white women who used their positions in social welfare systems, on the school PTA, and more to enforce segregationist policies and politics."
