SouthEast Consent Summit
February 23-24
Orlando, FL

The SouthEast Consent Summit will be a two day even held in two separate venues. Each day is “seminar style” with the presentations in one room, all day.

Presentations include: Teaching Consent and Negotiation, Consensual Non-consent Relationships, Ethnic Cultural Understanding: Global Views of Consent, Defining Consent Incidences and Consent Violations, Lifestyle (Swinging, Poly, BDSM, and Leather) Consent Differences, Domestic Violence – Understanding Consent and Lack of Consent Implications, Finding Lifestyle Friendly (Kink Aware Professional or KAP) Professionals, Creating Consent Policies for Individuals, Groups, Clubs, and Organizations, and The Law & Advocacy Issues.

Consent After Dark will take place Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 7-10pm EST. It is designed to provide experiential activities to reinforce how consent/non-consent can be facilitated, including:
  • Naked Eatery: A dessert &/or appetizer food bar where consent will have to be obtained to dine “off of” the models.
  • Body Painting: Participants can paint or be painted! The key, negotiate for where the brush can touch. The paint is edible and the sky…might be the limit!
  • Fashion Show featuring Martha’s Corset: Models will showcase the latest designs from this SouthEast artist. Have the models pose the way you want. How? Use consent. Learn corseting in the process.

With your help, we are looking forward to building something amazing!
Midwest Consent Summit 2018
On November 3rd, 2018, the NCSF and the Columbus Space created a day long informational event for all things Consent based.

Over the past several years, the NCSF had hosted National Consent Summits on both sides of the country. Since it was difficult to travel so far, a new regionally based event was piloted. The Columbus Space, a Central Ohio adult community educational and experiential facility, hosted the first Midwest Region’s Consent Summit.

It was a "Mixed Format" event - Part panel, Part Un-Con, and Part "Make-your-own-experience." This was wonderful combination of knowledge sharing, information gathering, with several structured panels - and is just a continuation in the ongoing goal to create a safer and more consent positive community.

The Columbus Space received consent from all presenters and moderators, then videoed the Panel Discussions. Here are the:

Take the Kink Clinical Guidelines Survey
Clinicians, your input is needed to create best-practices guidelines that are culturally informed, clinically knowledgeable and relevant. The Kink Practice Guidelines Project is inviting clinicians familiar with the kink and fetish client-experience to share your ideas via their Kink Clinical Practice Guidelines Survey. Your involvement in their development will make these guidelines better informed, more culturally appropriate and inclusive.

Give your feedback by taking the Clinical Practice Guidelines Survey. Invite other professionals to participate as well.

Metamour Day is February 28

It’s time to add a new holiday to your calendar! February 28 will henceforth be known as Metamour Day.

This holiday is meant to foster positive relationships between you and your metamours, whatever that might look like. It is not about forced compersion. It’s about communal appreciation within our family structures. Metamour Day is a celebration of the unique and special relationships between metamours.

As society evolves and non-monogamy becomes more common, the traditional nuclear family structure is constantly being challenged. Metamours are often taking on important family roles such as cohabitators and parental figures.

It is important to acknowledge and appreciate the special role a metamour has in your partners’ lives and tangentially (or directly) your own life. As a non-monogamous person, it is worthwhile to celebrate that relationship in order to continue to demonstrate the supportive and beneficial impact of non-monogamy on our lives.

Please join the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom in celebrating this day in February!

Celebrating at Naughty Noel

We were happy to celebrate the NCSF Happy Hour at Naughty Noel in Gettysburg, PA, on December 7, 2018.

Heather, a member of NCSF’s IRR Team, presented Consent and Cookies, using the NCSF Got Consent? material. The NCSF table was staffed by Slave Zuri, NCSF Mid-Atlantic Advocate, and Sir Daniel. Thank you!
Studio58 presents Naughty Noel, an adult lifestyle event focused on fun filled activities and excellent education with eating, entertaining, swimming, shopping and the opportunity to mingle and frolic with other likeminded adults. This weekend hotel takeover was all under one roof in Gettysburg, PA from December 7-9, 2018.
The Benefits of Coalition Partner Membership
NCSF hosts a Coalition Partner Town Hall online every Quarter to discuss important issues facing our communities today. In June, we talked about FOSTA/SESTA and what groups and websites can do to protect themselves. In September, we talked about how groups and events can deal with consent incidents, from questions to ask when investigating reports to liability issues and sanctions. This webinar was recorded exclusively for Coalition Partners.

At our 1st Quarter Coalition Partner Town Hall on January 20th, we provided an interactive Diversity Training by Latoya Brooks, PhD and MSW, that focused on key concepts in diversity and inclusion, and developing corrective strategies to analyze organizational strengths and weaknesses. This training was recorded for Coalition Partners who couldn't make the day of the webinar.

Ask your group, event or business to join NCSF today and take advantage of all our Coalition offers!

LLC 2019 is March 15-17
“I have been coming to LLC for several years now and I learn new and highly useful information EVERY year. My ROI for attending LLC is very favorable. My biggest disappointment around LLC is that I didn’t start coming sooner,” says Master Cecil, LLC board member, primary owner of The Woodshed in Orlando, and a producer for Florida Intense Rope Experience.

LLC is in the 23rd year of teaching and growing alternative lifestyle leadership and is gearing up for its annual conference March 15 - 17, 2019 in Atlanta .

NCSF's Vice Chair, Keira, will present Coexist (A New Hope): A Look at the Separation of Alternative Sexuality Communities. NCSF Consent Counts Director, Judy Guerin, will present How to Lobby on Sexual Freedom Issues.

LLC is designed to bring together leaders from alternative lifestyles with a conviction that not only are we stronger together - but we are strongest when we are educated.

“Just the ability to meet other leaders and build friendships with them is worth the time invested at this conference!” ~LLC Attendee

While LLC has been historically concentrated in Leather, it is seeing more people from various international kink, polyamory, BDSM, LGBTQIA+, and other communities among the conference attendees. Beyond this diversity in attendees, conference goers witness inclusivity reflected in instructors, presenters, and in the classes they teach.

To date, there is no college course or MBA for lessons in kinky leadership.

Leading and managing alternative communities, groups and organizations is seldom a career path most leaders saw themselves fulfilling in their 20-year plan for life. This makes the need for kink leaders gathering to trade experiential information and lessons learned obvious and apparent.

A sound leadership principal is “Don’t reinvent the wheel”; but, if you never saw how others made wheels, you would need to design it yourself.

LLC provides space and time for leaders and people on the path to leadership to not only see the many “wheels” others have created, but provides an opportunity to dialogue with those leaders so they can adapt that round innovation to the environment they live in.

Media Updates and Web Features
NCSF Media Updates are a sampling of recent stories printed in US newspapers, magazines, and selected websites containing significant mention of BDSM-leather-fetish, polyamory and the Lifestyle. These stories may be positive, negative, accurate, inaccurate or anywhere in between.

NCSF publishes the Media Updates to provide you with a comprehensive look at what what is being published and to urge you to make comments on the media outlet that dispute stereotypes about alternative sexuality. NCSF permits and encourages readers to forward these Media Updates where appropriate.
