As we turn the calendar to 2019, excitement continues to grow for NCSSM-Morganton! Fences are being installed, utilities are being marked, and our demolition and abatement work will begin early in the new year. Simultaneously, our team is welcoming several dozen new volunteers into the next phase of planning as we kickoff our academic program and student experience steering teams at a meeting in Hickory later this week.
As if that were not enough, we continue to be inspired by the generous spirit of our friends and champions who are investing in our future campus. We have already received nearly 100 gifts totaling nearly $150,000 with many other significant gifts being actively considered. The
Barn Raising Campaign is gaining momentum and we look forward to providing you with regular updates on progress in the weeks and months ahead. Thank you for your consideration of support in the new year.
Finally, as you will see below, our team has grown with the addition of our second permanent employee on the NCSSM-Morganton team. I am thrilled to welcome Dana Shillinglaw to our team as she, husband Mike, newborn son Miles, and dog Beau have relocated to Morganton following her appointment as the Office Manager for NCSSM-Morganton. Dana is working out of our planning office at Western Piedmont Community College and looks forward to meeting our many partners and constituents through her work.
Best wishes to you and yours for a happy, healthy, and prosperous year ahead!
