This Week at ND
It’s final project time for ND artists! The Portfolio students are creating self portraits using a variety of colored tapes. Using untraditional materials to create a realistic and recognizable piece is quite challenging. Megan Harris put a lot of time and thought into her portrait. Yes, this is all hand-cut pieces of tape! Fabulous job, Megan!

Girls' Tennis
The girls finished the season with a successful record of 9-7 and all four starting singles players qualified for the SWC tournament. Mathilde Gilles ‘23 dominated the conference, ending at 15-0 and won her first two rounds of the tournament. She will play Monday for the #1 singles championship against Barlow. Shannon Miller ‘24, Catalina Jimenez ‘22, and Mandy Mercado ‘23, were not able to advance past the first round of the tournament but are motivated to begin state playoffs next week.  Also hoping to make their march through the bracket in doubles play are: Bernae Webb ‘23, Brianna Tullonge ‘23, Amayah Algarin ‘23, and Katelyn Foley ‘24.
The Notre Dame Lady Lancers finished out their regular season with a 16-1 record, securing the #1 seed in Class S. This week they defeated New Milford 10-0, New Fairfield 11-1 and Barlow 10-0. The Lancers open up the SWC tournament play as the #2 seed and will host Barlow on Saturday.
Our girls favorite saying before the game is “We play today, We win today, Dassitt"
Girls' Golf
The Lady Lancers split their 2 matches this week with a victory against Stratford and tough home loss to undefeated Newtown. The Lancers were led by Alexa Volpacchio and Rose Baker in both matches. The regular season concludes next week as the team tries to make the SWC tournament.
Boys' Lacrosse
Congratulations to all our seniors for leading us this year, but more importantly helping the team to a big win on senior day this past Saturday. Our culture of inspiring greatness will grow to take hold in every player and I hope lessons learned from playing a team sport will benefit our seniors as they leave our program. Come out and support the team this Saturday at home as we take on Bunnell at 3pm. As our team begins to bond and grow into a premier program we will continue to enjoy the sweet taste of victory. Congratulations to Kevin Kelly, Sam Sciuadone and Gianni DiGirolamo for being recognized by the SWC for there hard work, dedication and commitment to our program.

Track and Field
On the final event of the season, the men and women’s track teams were in full swing! A beautiful 85 degrees made for a fast track and an excellent environment to throw jav! In the 100m Genny Joseph set a PB with 13.8 missing qualifying by only .1 seconds. Sabrina Wade ran an impressive 14.00 flat which was a great run for her. Mike Ceneri ran a PR of 12.8 despite missing qualifying. He shows great potential in years to come. Kevin Barrett ran a great 400m race @ 60.6 which was his best in this event. In javelin Kevin showed real potential again with a throw of 118 but fouled on his best throw which would have put him close to making SWCs. His talent for this sport is impressive to watch. Colleen Baker had a huge throw of 83.5 missing her SWC chances by only 2ft. She is showing real promise in this event. Both teams are very happy with the season and want to thank all those who attended meets and showed support for track.
Boys' Golf
The Lancers finished its season at 1 - 15 . The future looks very bright for the team as we have all of our starters returning. I was very proud of how the young men carried themselves throughout the season knowing we lost 14 out of 16 matches by forfeit before we even teed it up as we only had 3 players when we needed 4 to compete in a match. The season switches to the Fall next school year so we are hopeful we can get more students interested in playing Golf.
