NDB Alumnae Newsletter
Fall 2020
Dear NDB Alumnae,

I am happy to report that as of the writing of this letter, Notre Dame Belmont is thriving. Our student body is 460 students strong. Our faculty is engaged and dedicated. Despite the many challenges we all face, our future is bright.

After many fits and starts these past few years, we are happy to have a team in place who are dedicated to connecting our alumnae and telling their inspiring stories. We know you are up to many wonderful things and we’d love to connect with you more. Our hope is that this bi-annual newsletter is a good start.

We hope that as you reconnect with NDB you’ll find a community that makes you proud to call yourself an alumna. Our NDB Vision is to “develop young women of great character and intellect who are prepared to lead a life of purpose and impact.” With those words in mind, we recognize that there is still so much important work to be done. To that end, in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Administration, I have recently assembled a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. This group is constituted with alumnae, students, parents past and present, faculty, staff, and the Sisters of Notre Dame. Together, we will move beyond talk and take meaningful action to address institutional racism. It is my hope that this task force will help in developing mindful initiatives that support Notre Dame Belmont's Mission and Vision and our commitment to continuous improvement.

We are also happy to announce the creation of our first-ever NDB Alumnae Leadership Board. We hope that this foundational step will help graduates connect professionally with one another and aid in ensuring that the school continues to thrive into the next 100 years.

We invite you to check-in with us often, see the work we are doing and, when we can gather again, join us in celebrating our beloved NDB. Until then...

MESSAGE FROM ALUMNAE DIRECTOR
Dear Fellow Alumnae,

I came back to campus three years ago when my daughter, Mary, began at NDB. What I found was a flourishing, dynamic school educating young women for our modern age. I’m happy to be back working with the faculty, staff and administration to help ensure Notre Dame Belmont thrives for the next generation of young women. I believe now, more than ever, that NDB provides an exceptional education for our students and I am happy to have the chance to give back.

To that end, I’m excited to form our very first Alumnae Leadership Board. This board will span over 40 years of graduates and will seek to connect all Notre Dame Belmont women in order to foster a more collaborative network of women supporting women. Would you like to get involved? We’d love to have your dedication and talents.

Below, you’ll find a few class notes. We love hearing and sharing what our incredible alumnae are up to; please visit the Keep in Touch Form at the bottom of this email and tell us more…

We look forward to the time we can all celebrate together in person. Until that time, we invite you to join us for one of our planned virtual events to celebrate all that is NDB.

In NDB sisterhood,
Susan Drucker Hunsaker ‘91
Associate Director of Alumnae & Parent Engagement
