Despite the recent decision to uphold the denial of Holtec's dumping permit, Holtec is not backing down and intends to appeal as they continue to plan dumping radioactive wastewater into Cape Cod Bay that would have serious ramifications for our community, environment, and Blue Economy.

What's also concerning is that all their legal fees are being pulled from the Decommissioning Trust Fund—our ratepayer money that's supposed to ensure a safe and thorough decommissioning process.
In addition to appealing the decision, Holtec resorts to name-calling and falsifies science data on the dangers of radioactive contamination to their benefit. We must come together to protect our interests against their assault on the truth.

Remember, the entire Cape, along with Plymouth, Duxbury, and Scituate, overwhelmingly voted for our state government to halt radioactive airborne pollution evaporation this past spring. Those results were delivered to Governor Healey. The state should be enforcing environmental laws that prohibit airborne radioactive pollution TODAY. [See analysis by Pilgrim Watch here.]
No action has been taken by the Healey administration to stop radioactive airborne pollution that rains down on us and
Cape Cod Bay.
The legislature stepped up. Senator Fernandes filed a bill that would halt Holtec's radioactive airborne discharge during a state study [S.540]. A similar bill was also filed by Rep. Hadley Luddy and Rep. Michelle Badger [H.4040]. These should be emergency bills enforced immediately.
Holtec, not the "good neighbor" they promised when buying Pilgrim, is against these public safety bills and denies the evaporation of radioactive materials is dangerous to the public and environment.
We need a big public push to let Holtec know we still say
NO to contamination of our communities.
