Note from the president:

Welcome to February!

Well, our year is off to a great start! We have been able to secure publishing for a membership directory again this year. This item has been missing for the last couple of years so we are thrilled to get it back. We need a way to have something to place in people's hands when advertising the chamber and what we have to offer, especially until we can get a website up and running. If you want your business to be included in the new publication, please make sure to update your membership application and make your payment by the February 20th meeting. Payments can only be cash or check at this time.

On that note, please make sure you DO NOT recommend or refer to the old website. It is very outdated, and we are unable to make any changes at all to it. Instead refer people to our FaceBook page or have them contact a board member with any questions or concerns.

Lastly, I am finally able to report that our annual Christmas Party and Auction raised just over $5100!!! We are off to a great start at being able to promote our members this year and be able to create the new website to better serve our membership.

See you all on the 20th!

We need meal sponsors!

The chamber requests meal sponsors this year. This is a great opportunity to market your business by saying a brief overview of your services prior to the meal being served. You can decide which chef, restaurant or catering company you work like to use or a list of options can be offered. To sponsor lunch for approximately 30 guests, please contact :

Small Business Center of Davidson-Davie Community College

I am excited to announce that we are planning a Young Entrepreneurs (19 and under) Summit [YES] sponsored by Davidson Davie Community College’s Small Business Center. The idea is to encourage and empower young entrepreneurs and connect them to established entrepreneurs. The date is set for April 16 from 9am to about 4pm. The young entrepreneurs will be from high schools in Davidson and Davie Counties in North Carolina, and will be hand picked by their respective schools. I am specifically inviting you to join us at 1pm when established business leaders will judge our young entrepreneurs as they pitch (shark tank style) their business idea. We will give out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes all determined by our panel of established business owners. This event will be held at the Finch House in Thomasville, NC. Again, we would like you to join us in the afternoon around 1pm to be a part of our panel to judge the young entrepreneurs on their pitches. We also ask for your business card and any other item you would like to go in a swag bag for the young entrepreneurs. Lastly, we would ask that you would allow these young entrepreneurs to reach out to you for mentoring/advice. Please contact the Small Business Center at sbc@davidsondavie.edu if you would like to be a part of this opportunity. Thank you for your consideration. JUST SAY YES!
