Dear Members,
My message is simple,
“We are here for you.”
As always, your credit union is here for you when you need us most. There is so much information out there that I wanted to provide you with some accurate information to help you cut through the clutter to get a better understanding of what we can do to help you during these difficult times. We want to be that voice of reason for you. Many people panic during stressful times which may cause poor decisions. You never make a good decision when you panic.
Your credit union is considered an essential business and it is our intent to remain open, so you have access to your accounts and services. As you may or may not be aware our lobbies are closed to the public, but we continue to provide services through our drive-up windows, night deposit drop boxes, ATM’s, Shared Branching, Online Banking and Mobile Banking. Many members are now taking advantage of technology and all the ways to access their accounts. If you would like to sign up for any of these services, please reach out to any of our staff so that we can help you weather the storm.
If you are worried about making your payments or having enough money due to loss of income, please reach out to us. You do not need to be worried about your finances during these times. We have solutions that will allow you to maintain your credit and make sure you have access to cash to help you meet your needs. We have been overwhelmed by the understanding, support and appreciation of our members. We continue to open new accounts for people who have never been members or were previously members before and have opened accounts again. I asked one gentleman, “Why did you open up your account with us?” He said, “Because of the way you treat people like people”.
We also serve many small businesses and non-profits. If you own a small business or run a nonprofit and are having difficulties, please contact Molly Woodward, Business Development Officer, at 680-2417 or by email at

Is your money safe? It most certainly is. Your savings are insured by the NCUA up to at least $250,000 and in many cases much more than that. I can assure you that access to your money is easy just like it has always been, and you will have access to it when you need it. It is never safe to have lots of cash on hand at home. Your hard-earned cash could be stolen or destroyed in a fire and then it’s gone. Just keep enough cash on hand for what you need. Let the credit union protect the rest.
Any time there is a crisis, there is an increase in the amount of fraud cases. You may get calls from people claiming to be with the CDC, Social Security or another government entity. Do not give out any of your personal identifying information. Stay vigilant and if you think something does not sound right or you are not comfortable with something, it is probably fraud. If you get in situations like this give us a call and we will talk it out with you.
Your credit union continues to maintain a strong balance sheet, income statement, and capital position.
The credit union’s mission has not changed since the 1930’s: “not for profit, not for charity but for service” and these words have never been truer. We are owned by the members and we will continue to work hard for the members during their time of need. We are in unprecedented times which can make all of us anxious. I want to reassure you that we are willing and able to serve you. I think that when this is over, this crisis will create new behaviors and will help us find a way to adapt to change and in how we access our accounts.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers, we wish you good health and that you stay safe and remind you one last time…we are here for you.
Sincerely,
Ryan G. Poulin
Chief Executive Officer
