On-line Learning Opportunities Available

The Transportation Learning Network (TLN) is a division of the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at North Dakota State University. TLN is governed by a committee representing each of the participating state DOTs and Center for Transformative Infrastructure Preservation and Sustainability (CTIPS)—formerly Mountain-Plains Consortium (MPC)—universities.

TLN was developed to serve the transportation interests of the region and complements the efforts of its various members. It provides access to information and expertise not readily available to transportation professionals in the region. TLN identifies, schedules, distributes and warehouses technology transfer for its members.

The Mountain-Plains Consortium (MPC) theme is "Transportation Infrastructure and Operations to Support Sustainable Energy Development and the Safe Movement of People and Goods". MPC is a competitively selected University Transportation Center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation through its Research and Innovative Technology Administration.

Road Safety Champion Program

The Road Safety Champion Program (RSCP) is a nationally-recognized "Roadway Safety 101" training series. It is made for staff in transportation, public health, and first responder agencies who have an interest in roadway safety but are not safety experts.

The RSCP includes seven core modules plus career-focused pathways. Once participant complete the seven core modules and on pathway, they are awarded a Road Safety Champion Program Certificate!

(Note: courses can be taken in any order and the certificate is not a degree or professional certification.)

The Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grants, funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, are an annual opportunity to put the Road to Zero pillars into practice by supporting promising projects and programs that can help us achieve our mission of zero traffic fatalities.

The application period for the 2025 Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grant program is now open. Get the full guidelines and application. Applications are due by 11:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2025.
