Description 
This training, intended for a leadership team, is designed to utilize the NDMTSS Essential Components to solve problems at the school, classroom, and student level. Emphasis will be given to translating current educational research into practice to help schools maximize resources and outcomes for all students. Examples of data systems for universal screening and progress monitoring will be identified, as well as specific interventions and curricula to address problems at a systems level. 

Objectives
  1. Identify current gaps in student outcomes based on grade level data.
  2. Evaluate appropriate pathways for students to increase academic achievement.
  3. Develop strategies for solving problems at increasingly larger levels.
  4. Increase awareness of evidence-based interventions and curricula.

Description 
Managing challenging student behaviors requires an understanding of behavior, its function, and its influences. This course is designed to explore practical, evidence based, educator-centric strategies that pair with specific functions and behavior influence principles.  Positive Reinforcement Delivery Systems, Behavior Influence Principles, and Strategies (Behavior Momentum, etc.)
 
Objectives
  1. Understand the basic principles of behavior modification.
  2. Analyze strategies to mitigate challenging behaviors.
  3. Create and implement strategies to mitigate challenging behaviors.

  • 97% said the training was effective and valuable with 67% indicating the content was "very valuable"
  • 97% reported at least "moderate" increases in their knowledge and skills with 72% noting "substantial" increases in knowledge and 58% with "substantial" increase in skills.
  • 97% felt that that they would be able to apply what they learned into their practice (50% indicated a "to a great extent".)

82 out of 117 (70%) completed the feedback survey
  • 100% found the information to be at least "somewhat valuable" to their position/role with 90% indicating it was VERY VALUABLE (55%) OR VALUABLE (35%).
  • 99%  noted at least a "slight" increase in their knowledge (45% substantial)
  • 100%  reported at least a "slight" increase in their skills (45% substantial)
  • 100% said they would be able to apply what they learned, with 96%  reporting to at least "a moderate extent".
  • 96% reported what they learned would have at least a "moderate" impact on those they serve (with 63% indicating it would have a "substantial" impact).

  • 54% felt the training met their expectations with the other 46% said it met some of their expectations, but not others (see below for explanations from those indicating expectations were not met):

    • Lot of team time - wish there was more concrete info to put into place
    • Collaboration was helpful, but looking for more content and coaching
  • 96% received enough team time to discuss their Tier I PBIS system.
  • 96% noted they were provided with a greater understanding of the opportunities for improvement for their school's Tier I PBIS System.
  • 68% reported they were able to identify ideas or examples of ways to address the challenges or questions of the team relating to their Tier I PBIS System.
