The 2022 Veterans Legislative Symposia is Coming up in March
Be sure to mark your calendar for the 2022 Nevada Veterans Legislative Symposia in coming up in March. 

The first of two symposia will be held in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th at the Dula Community Center 451 East Bonanza Road Las Vegas, NV 89101

The second symposia will be held in Reno a week later, on Saturday March 26th in the Washoe Senior Center, located at 1155 E. 9th Street in Reno, NV 89512. Both symposia's will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Read More

 VA Seeks Feedback on Copayment Waiver Program for
Veterans At-Risk of Suicide
The VA has submitted a proposal to eliminate copayment requirements for outpatient mental health visits and to reduce the copayments for medications dispensed to veterans identified as high risk for suicide by a VA Clinician. Read More
Emergency Funds Still Available for Caregivers
DHHS still has emergency funds available for caregivers. These funds are a one time assistance for family and friend caregivers who have an unplanned, unavoidable absence and need to find care for their loved one but have difficulty paying for care. Read More

Veteran Tax Exemption 
Did you know that many of Nevada’s veterans and surviving spouses are eligible for an annual “Veteran Tax Exemption”.
This exemption can be used for either their vehicle registration Governmental Service Tax Fee or to reduce their property taxes. Read More

Congress passed the REMOTE Act for veteran students on December 21st. This law extends many of the various COVID-19 protections enacted for veterans and family members using the G.I. Bill from the end of 2021 to June 1st 2022. Read More

Every year service tens of thousands of men and women transition out of the U.S. Armed Forces.  Most leave with an honorable discharge, however some do not, for a variety of reason. Veterans License Plates 
Did you know that here in Nevada we currently have 22 license plates available of which 10 also have a motorcycle equivalent? These plates allow for the veterans in our state to pick out a plate and personalize it according to their preference. Read More
