Who's ready for Sunday School?

Northeast Update - Late August 2017
Charlottesville Solidarity Vigil
Charlottesville candlelight vigil

Forward Sheboygan is planning a vigil in solidarity with the people of Charlottesville this coming August 18th Friday night. They had an impromptu vigil Sunday night and had nearly 70 people. They want to get together again the night before Earth-Fest in Fountain Park, at the NE corner.

There will be some music as people are gathering and also to sing a couple songs with the group during the 30-minute time together. There will be some speakers, clergy and lay leaders of worshiping communities in the area, including myself, will share their sentiments on standing up against hatred and bigotry. At the end, we are going to walk around the block of the park with our candles. The vigil is 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18 at the NE corner of Fountain Park. The music will begin at 7:45 as people gather.

If you are able to come and help get the word out that would be wonderful. If you are able to come please feel free to bring some candles and liters please shoot me an email if you are able to bring candles and lighters so we do not overshoot the amount.

For more information about Forward Sheboygan follow them on Facebook. You can also read statements on the events in Charlottesville from the United Church of Christ and Wisconsin Conference Minister Franz Rigert.

Family Service Fest

We will again be participating in the Annual Family Service Fest!!

What is "Family Service Fest" you ask? It is a day for the entire congregation to go out and serve others. On this day we will have a fifteen minute worship where we will be encouraged to do our best and helping others. Some of the services we will provide...tying blankets, helping out at the Sheboygan Food Bank, visits/cleaning to Oak Creek Assisted Living, Field of Dreams Assisted Living, Harvest Home Assisted Living, helping shoppers at the local grocery stores, cleaning the area parks, Humane Society, goodie bags for area police and many, many more! Join us again this year and let's see if we can outdo the last two years!
