Capital Conversations with
Sen. Angus King

On July 10, 2018, Sen. Angus King (I-ME) was the featured guest at a Capital Conversations breakfast, hosted by NEC member Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Washington, DC.  The Senator discussed a variety of issues currently pending before the U.S. Senate.  He is pictured here with Susan Olson of Natixis Investment Managers.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) spoke about changes she believes Congress should make to the U.S. bankruptcy system at a Congressional Roundtable breakfast in Boston on July 16, 2018.  The breakfast was sponsored by NEC member John Hancock Financial Services.  Sen. Rep. Rep. Chellie Pingree

At a July 23, 2018 Congressional Roundtable breakfast, Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-ME) discussed some of her recent work in the U.S House of Representatives with NEC members.  The breakfast was hosted by Council member PretiFlaherty at their office in downtown Portland.  Congresswoman Pingree is pictured here (left) with Hilary Rapkin of WEX.

Op-Ed Highlights Importance of New England Trade with Canada, Mexico
On July 25, 2018, the New Hampshire Union Leader published an Op-Ed by NEC President and CEO Jim Brett discussing the important economic relationship the New England region shares with Canada and Mexico, and urging the Trump Administration to move forward with the modernization of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and to reconsider tariffs imposed on imports from these two important trade partners.

NEC Members Attend Pawtucket Red Sox Game
On July 24, 2018, NEC member Amica Mutual Insurance Company hosted a group of New England Council members in their suite at McCoy Stadium for a Pawtucket Red Sox game.  NEC President & CEO Jim Brett was invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the game against the Columbus Clippers.
