NEC Launches Technology & Innovation Working Group
Kick-Off Meeting February 17, 2022
The New England Council is pleased to announce that we are relaunching our Technology Committee as a new Technology & Innovation Working Group.

While the committee was established many years ago to bring together Council members in the traditional “technology” sector, we know that today, technology has permeated every sector of our economy. And as such, technology policy is of interest to Council members across an array of industries.  In light of this, we will be relaunching the NEC Technology Committee in 2022 as a cross-sector Technology & Innovation Working Group. The purpose of this working group will be to bring together Council members from a variety of sectors to work collaboratively on federal policy that impacts our region’s Innovation Economy more broadly.

Examples of some of the topics this new working group might focus on include:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Broadband & 5G Connectivity
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Privacy
  • Intellectual Property
  • Workforce Demands

The working group will assist the Council in identifying federal policy proposals for possible advocacy, host relevant guest speakers, and identify topics that may be of interest for Council-wide programming. Emily Heisig, SVP Communication & Federal Affairs, and Taylor Pichette, Federal Affairs Manager, will be the NEC staff contacts for this working group.
Interested NEC members are invited to joins us for a kick-off meeting:
