NEECA News -- JULY 2022
PREVIEW NEECA'S 2022 CALENDAR OF EVENTS. CLICK ON EACH UNDERLINED EVENT FOR DETAILS.

NEECA has a BUSY few weeks ahead. We have something happening nearly every weekend at the park. And talk about diversity! Gymkhanas, a Hunter Pace, Versatility Clinic, and a Mustang Makeover Challenge! The sheer scope and variety of events our organization manages to offer is truly impressive, and one of the things that makes NEECA so special. The term "multi-discipline" is important to us, and we prioritize offering events that will appeal to a wide variety of horse people. Whatever your interest, we've got something for you!

We've highlighted the events happening in the next month below. For more information, please visit our FB page: https://www.facebook.com/NewEnglandEquestrianCenterofAthol, or the calendar page on our website: https://www.neeca.org/calendar, where you can click on each event for more details.

SUE ELLEN MOWCOMBER- has been a member of NEECA since moving to our area in 2009 and a board member since 2010. Sue Ellen grew up in Northern Ohio and fostered a deep connection with animals from a very young age.
She attended The Ohio State University college of veterinary medicine and graduated with her DVM in 1989 and moved to New England. She currently owns and practices medicine at Family Pet in Athol.
Though she has occasionally done low-level competitions, her real Equestrian love is trail riding. She, her Haflinger cross Rory, and friends can be seen strolling along the trails at NEECA and other Equestrian-friendly parks in the area.
She introduced a successful Triathlon competition for NEECA this year and has been active in coordinating with the town for the benefit of the park. Her next major effort will be helping to expand the NEECA trail system so that it can connect to areas outside the park and offer more variety and distance to our riders
Two Spots Available in Sept. 24th Equine Rescue Clinic
We'd like to offer our members "first dibs" on these spots before we advertise them on FaceBook. Cost is $60 for this clinic. Contact carolinemansfield01@gmail.com if interested, but don't wait too long because these spots fill fast!
COMING SOON! At the beginning of this year, the NEECA Board of Directors sat down and created a list of goals that we wanted to accomplish in the coming year(s). On the top of this list was to finally have a "real" food booth at NEECA. Well, we're pleased to announce that we are very close to achieving that important goal. Our new food booth is almost ready to go, and we'll soon be able to serve burgers/hot dogs/ drinks/snacks and more at NEECA events. The booth has electricity, a refrigerator and (when it finally gets delivered) a real deal concession window for our volunteers to work out of. We are very excited to be able to offer this service for the convenience of our event participants and spectators. Booth is located on the right side of the arena, just look for the sign below.

We will be looking for volunteers to help man the booth at various events, otherwise it will not be open. If you are interested in helping out, even for just one event a year, please contact carolinemansfield01@gmail.com.
